WHY ARE RELATIONSHIPS SO CHALLENGING?
We are conditioned to believe that romantic relationships are something we have to work towards and work for but also that when the relationship begins, we will fall in love and live happily ever after. But, in real life, the real work begins once we let ourselves fall in love. True Love is meant to challenge you. True Love is meant to help you get over your egoistic ways of holding yourself back from stepping fully into your purpose. And the ego can want to hang on so much that we begin to question if the relationship is really worth it. The ego convinces you that you are better on your own; because the further away from divine love you are, the easier you are for the ego to control.
This is not to say that you shouldn’t leave a relationship that is co-dependent, abusive, based in addiction or lacking trust. It’s not to say that sometimes relationships just run their course and serve their purpose and it’s time for both parties to walk away with respect and love for themselves and the other.
But most of the time, in our quick-fix society of ease, when things get difficult we start looking around; comparing our relationship to the filtered image we have of others and want to jump ship.
Try to stick with it and notice the aspects of yourself that the relationship is making you work on. Love wants you to grow; the challenges you are facing are giving you the opportunity to cross threshold after threshold and breakthrough into Divine Love.
full moon ritual for revelation
A full moon will bring about many revelations about the head loops we’ve been in regarding what and who we are passionate towards. Notice what comes up for you, but also try this ritual to spend some time getting out of your head, into your body and feeling yourself at one with the universe.
By yourself or together with a group of friends:
Cast a circle with salt on the ground.
Place a bowl of water within the circle of salt.
Place an unscented white candle in the bowl of water.
Light some sage to cleanse your aura and environment.
Call in wind in the east, fire in the south, water in the west and Earth in the north.
Sing into the water a song that reminds you that you are nature, a song that reminds you that you are love.
Stand and dance in a circle - around the circle you have created - as you sing.
Put intentions and reflections into the water.
Close the circle by releasing the directions and blowing out the candle.
Take the salt you have blessed from your ceremony and gift it to all participants to put in their bath water.
Take the water you have blessed from your ceremony and gift it to a nearby body of natural water as an offering.
